Alu Kayode is an experiential design strategist who has crafted brand activations for global names like Martell, Sprite, and Jack Daniel's. When your work is entirely about physical space and tactile experiences, your digital footprint needs to get out of the way and let the work speak.
The brief was to create a minimal, high-contrast portfolio that serves as a quiet gallery for vibrant, loud, and immersive real-world projects. The solution was a bespoke WordPress build focusing on typography and deep, border-to-border image displays.

A quiet gallery for loud work
Experiential design is inherently noisy. It involves lighting rigs, crowd control, brand colors, and massive physical structures. A portfolio site for this kind of work shouldn't add more noise.
We stripped away all unnecessary UI chrome. No heavy borders, no complex navigation structures, and no distracting micro-interactions. The site acts as a stark white gallery wall, allowing the vibrant colors of his experiential campaigns to stand out.
Structuring the narrative
While the homepage acts as a purely visual hook, the inner pages need to establish industry authority. The About and Services sections employ an editorial typographic scale to deliver his manifesto without interrupting the visual flow.
We used a modular block approach for the case studies, allowing the client to easily swap between full-width imagery and detailed text columns depending on the scope of the physical event.

Measurable outcomes
The best portfolio designs are the ones you don't notice. When the user's attention is entirely on the case study imagery rather than the website wrapping it, the design has succeeded.
